Okay, I'm in...who else is in on this crazy mess? Let's here your goals? Mine is to get back down to roughly 12% body fat -- Lord knows I have 12% now just in one leg and butt cheek!!!!! I'm assuming that means I'll need to lose between 20 and 25lbs but we'll see what comes about.

Man I love food ...whose idea was this anyways!!!! I think I'll start a "memorial blog" to the sweet, savory, and tart foods that I'll so adamently miss during this campaign. Cookies and cobbler...you will not be forgotten, and will forever hold a special place in my heart -- albeit in the form of plaque in my arteries.

As in classic "Cook fashion," I will be the first to begin the "trash talk." Someone fill me in on what our dearest friend, Dr. Kent McBride has to lose, he's by far the fittest among us -- ah yes...the correct answer would be his hair. - Oh snap! ...and so it begins. (Pat...that was for you Brother!)

Until the next fat-update...

Let's get this started!!

OK ladies and gentlemen: if you are reading this, you have made a commitment to increase your fitness in 2010. The purpose of this challenge is to give each person the opportunity and the motivation to get healthy in 2010. We are only given one body, and I think we all want to take care of it to live long lives for our kids and grandkids...

So, here are the details:
  • Starting this Monday, January 4th 2010 the challenge will begin. Each participant will take pre-pictures (1 front, 1 side, and 1 back). These pictures can be shared if you wish, but don't have to be.
  • Each participant must come up with their own personal goal or goals to be reached by June 19th, 2010. These can range from weight loss goals, to body fat reduction, to 5k times, or even just to maintain perfection (as Frank is going to do :-) ) Please post your goals on the blog as soon as you come up with them!
  • We are asking for $20 per person to pay for T-shirts and prizes at the end. If this is a problem, don't worry about it. I don't want this to prohibit people from participating.
  • On Saturday June 19th we will have a party on Cheat Lake to celebrate the challenge and to evaluate whether everyone met their goals or not.
I kept this blog private, so only participants will be able to read and post (there's only about 8 right now). Please feel free to smack talk and/or encourage other participants. If you know anyone else that wants in, let me know!
